Emma Raducanu got off to a winning start at the Transylvania Open with a dominant win over Greet Minnen. This was the first match since the British number one split with coach Francis Roig, but she started strongly as she won the first six service games to take the first set. An early break at the start proved to be the difference and she wrapped up a 6-0 6-4 win after an hour and 10 minutes. She did not face a break point and won 86% of her first serve points.
Kaja Juvan is her next opponent. Juvan defeated Elena Ruxandra Bertea in straight sets. The 25-year-old broke on four occasions as she won 6-3 6-4.
Raducanu is the top seed here, and she will be expected to make a deep run as she searches for an elusive title on tour. If she continues her aggressive style, she has the ability to overwhelm Juvan and record another straight sets win.
