Emma Navarro vs Ella Seidel prediction
Emma Navarro received a bye in the first-round of the Cincinnati Open as the eighth seed. She could only make the third-round in Montreal last time out, losing to Dayana Yastremska in straight sets. This follows a similarly disappointing loss to Maria Sakkari early on in Washington a week earlier. Navarro has not enjoyed the best of starts to her North American hard court summer swing and will hope her fortunes improve this week.
She begins her campaign against Ella Seidel. Seidel extended Polina Kudermetova’s winless streak in the first-round as she recovered from a poor start to win 1-6 6-3 6-2. This was a landmark moment for the 20-year-old as she recorded her first ever WTA 1000 main draw victory in her career.
Navarro will be out to prove a point this week and should get off to a winning start against the qualifier. The American is a strong favourite to win in straight sets.
