Emma Navarro vs Amanda Anisimova prediction
Emma Navarro produced a battling display to get her grass court season off to a winning start as she beat Beatriz Haddad Maia in three sets. Navarro was playing her first match since her shock thrashing to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in the first-round of the French Open. She made a similarly poor start here but fought hard to save a match point in the second set tiebreak and go on to win 1-6 7-6 6-3.
She takes on compatriot Amanda Anisimova in the next stage of Queen’s. The American defeated her second British opponent in a row at the tournament as she comfortably beat Sonay Kartal 6-1 6-3 in a match which lasted barely over an hour. It was a really strong performance from Anisimova who has looked in control in both of her matches so far.
This will be their first match on grass but Anisimova leads the head-to-head 3-0, winning their most recent match at the Charleston Open two months ago in straight sets. Navarro will battle away but we predict Anisimova to make it through in three sets.
