Emiliana Arango vs Xinyu Wang prediction

Emiliana Arango qualified for the Cincinnati Open and then won her first-round match after a comfortable 6-2 6-2 win over seven-time Grand Slam singles champion and veteran Venus Williams. This was the second time this season that Arango had advanced to round two of a WTA 1000 event, with her run ending against a rampant Iga Swiatek. She then failed to qualify in Monterrey after a three set loss to Panna Udvardy.

She faces Xinyu Wang in the first-round of the US Open. The Chinese player did show some form in Cincinnati, beating Hanne Vandewinkel and Donna Vekic to reach round three. Her run would end against world number one Aryna Sabalenka. She reached the final of the Auckland Open right at the start of the year, along with a round-of-16 appearance at the Australian Open.

Wang’s form has not reached the heights of earlier in the season, but she is still a clear favourite to win against Arango, who has struggled for much of the year so far.
