Emiliana Arango vs Liudmila Samsonova prediction

Emiliano Arango enters the main draw of the Wuhan Open as a lucky loser. She got through a tight match with Anna Bondar in the first stage of qualifying but then went on to lose to Antonia Ruzic. Nevertheless, the Colombian will hope she can make a deep run here. She did get through to a final in Guadalajara just under a month ago, her second of the season on the WTA Tour, as she lost to Iva Jovic and Arango is also up to her highest ranking of 49 in the world. 

Liudmila Samsonova suffered a disappointing second-round loss to Lois Boisson last time out at the China Open. Her results have not been particularly impressive since she got through to the last eight at Wimbledon, and her best run of form was found during the summer.

Samsonova should still have too much quality for Arango in the first-round, but this could be a close encounter between the pair.
