The American underdog downed fourth seed Zeynep Sonmez 3-6 7-5 7-5 to set up a showdown with her compatriot Peyton Stearns.

The seventh seed, Stearns wasted little time in cruising past Tatiana Prozorova 6-1 6-2.

Interestingly, world number 132, Kalieva beat Peyton in their only previous encounter at an ITF hardcourt event by a 7-5 2-6 6-4 scoreline back in 2022.
