Elsa Jacquemot vs Liudmila Samsonova prediction

Elsa Jacquemot arrives in Guadalajara having put together a strong run at the WTA 125 event in Barranquilla last week. She beat the likes of Kayla Day and Anastasia Tikhonova before losing in straight sets to Anna Blinkova in the semi-finals. That was a useful response to her US Open defeat in the first-round, where she was beaten 6-2 6-2 by Marie Bouzkova. Jacquemot also has positive memories of this event, as she reached the semi-finals here last year.

Liudmila Samsonova is the eighth seed and will face Jacquemot in round one. She has not competed since her disappointing first-round exit in New York, as she lost to Maya Joint despite going up a set.
