Ella Seidel vs Yulia Putintseva prediction

Ella Seidel began the Guangzhou Open in fine fashion as she defeated Leolia Jeanjean in straight sets to advance to the round-of-16. The German was not broken on serve and broke on four occasions herself as she wrapped up a very comfortable 6-2 6-2 win.

She now takes on Yulia Putintseva in the next round. Putintseva battled her way through to the next stage of the tournament after a three set win over Alina Korneeva. A bizarre first set saw Putinseva squander a 4-0 lead, only to still take it on a tiebreak. Korneeva forced a decider after controlling the second and twice broke back as the third set reached its climax. The Kazakhstani broke for a third time in the set to finally clinch a 7-6 4-6 6-4 win after two hours and 21 minutes. 

Putintseva leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win at the Ningbo Open last year. However, both have experienced contrasting fortunes this season, with Putintseva dropping down the rankings and Seidel entering the top 100 of the rankings for the first time. The youngster should be confident of a win against Putintseva, who still struggled in her first-round match.
