Ella Seidel vs Leolia Jeanjean prediction

Ella Seidel will compete in her first tournament for nearly a month. She has not featured since the China Open, as she qualified for the event and reached the second-round. This followed up a fine showing in Seoul as she defeated defending champion Beatriz Haddad Maia on her way to making the quarter-finals. The young German has reached the top 100 of the world rankings for the first time in her career.

Leolia Jeanjean is her first-round opponent. She ended a four match losing run in Suzhou as she defeated Maddison Inglis in round one, but she was then on the end of a defeat to Tatjana Maria. The 30-year-old has reached three finals at lower-level tournaments this season, but she has never advanced beyond the top 90 of the world rankings.

Jeanjean leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win in the second stage of Australian Open qualifying this year. However, Seidel has improved as a player since that point and should be confident of a win here.
