Elina Svitolina vs Solana Sierra prediction

Elina Svitolina was forced to withdraw from the Cincinnati Open before her third-round match due to an ankle problem. She still thrilled the crowd in her opening encounter, coming from a set down to beat Tereza Valentova, and saving seven match points in the process. The Ukrainian has enjoyed a very strong year up to this point, with titles in Auckland and Rome, along with a final in Dubai. She has 26 wins from 33 matches on hard courts this season.

Her first-round opponent is Solana Sierra. The Argentine’s losing run extended to four matches as she failed to make it out of Cincinnati Open qualifying, losing heavily in the first stage. 

The only concern for Svitolina is the injury, but she did manage to reach the semi-finals of the mixed doubles. If she is fit and raring to go, the world number nine is the overwhelming favourite to advance to round two.
