Winning streaks will be on the line when Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk clash in an all-Ukrainian quarter-final in Paris.
The 15th seed, Kostyuk made it 16 victories in a row with a 7-5 6-1 demolition of four-time champion Iga Swiatek last time out, while Rome winner Svitolina hit back to sink Belinda Bencic 4-6 6-4 6-0 and claim a 10th straight triumph.
This will be their third meeting and a first on clay with the head-to-head tied at 1-1.
This is a difficult one to call as Kostyuk is undefeated on the dirt so far this year and that maiden victory over 'Clay Queen' Swiatek will have enhanced her belief in what is only her second quarter-final appearance at a Major.
Svitolina has continued to live up to pre-tournament suggestions she is a dark horse to claim a maiden Grand Slam title but this remains the only one where she has not already made the last four.
Something will have to give but we feel it will be a tough-old battle given everything at stake and a punt on it going three seems a valid shout.
