Elina Svitolina vs Coco Gauff prediction
Coco Gauff produced arguably her best tennis of 2026 with a magnificent win over Alexandra Eala.
The Filipina underdog had much of the passionate crowd’s support but it mattered little as the American romped to a 6-0 6-2 success.
Gauff has been struggling on serve since the start of the season and her double fault count was off the charts prior to this quarter-final clash. If she can continue this form, it will provide her with a big opportunity to avenge her recent Australian Open humbling against Elina Svitolina.
The Ukrainian continued her stonking start to the year by teeing up another semi final with a 3-6 6-2 6-3 victory over Antonia Ruzic. It sets up what is a fifth showdown between the pair and the head-to-head is finely poised at 2-2.
Coco will very much have revenge on her mind and a point to prove, but Svitolina will also like her chances given how well she is playing. The Ukrainian is also excellent at applying regular pressure on the return and that is likely to be significant, given that tight scenarios are when the American’s serve tends to wobble most.
Elina has never been defeated in straight sets by the two-time Grand Slam champion but both of her victories were completed in two. However, we expect Gauff to be much more of a threat than in the 6-1 6-2 loss in Melbourne and feel this could be a belter.
