Elena Rybakina vs Iga Swiatek prediction

Iga Swiatek’s bid for a fifth French Open title will come under greater scrutiny against Elena Rybakina.

The Kazakhstani has the big-hitting style to unsettle the Pole and has started to rekindle the sort of form that saw her win Wimbledon three years ago.

The 12th seed won Strasbourg coming into Paris and has eased through the draw so far, completely outclassing former champion Jelena Ostapenko 6-2 6-2 in the previous round.

Swiatek is on a 24-match winning streak at the French Open and showed resilience and patience to defeat the battling Jaqueline Cristian 6-2 7-5 in the third round.

The fifth seed has shown vulnerability this year and has yet to land a title, giving Rybakina real belief she can pull off an upset.

The head-to-head is tied at 4-4 although Rybakina has won both matches on clay, including a 6-3 4-6 6-3 victory in the semi-finals in Stuttgart last year.

It would be a big call to bet against the Queen of Clay, but Rybakina can certainly spring a surprise here and with Swiatek not quite at the peak of her powers, it isn’t as clear-cut as the odds suggest.
