Elena-Gabriela Ruse vs Caty McNally prediction
Elena-Gabriela Ruse heads into Wimbledon on the back of an impressive performance at the Bad Homburg Open as she reached the semi-finals, eventually losing to Karolina Muchova in straight sets. Ruse had also reached the quarter-finals of the Libema Open earlier this month after they had been knocked out by Magdalena Frech in the first round at Roland-Garros.
She now takes on Caty McNally, who most recently reached the quarter-finals at the Eastbourne Open, losing to Petra Marcinko in three sets. McNally has been competitive throughout this calendar year and this could be a tough contest here.
Both players are reasonable form and neither would have expected to go out in the first round and a long game match does appear to be in store here.
