Ekaterina Alexandrova will hope the switch to grass will kickstart her season.

The Russian world number 17 has been way short of form, winning just one of her last eight and failing to make an impact on her first outing on grass in s’Hertogenbosch last week.

That said, the surface is her strongest statistically and that may aid her against Russian-born Austrian Anastasia Potapova, who is less impressive on the turf but is full of confidence after an exceptional clay swing. 

Alexandrova’s 2026 will surely improve soon but we aren’t sure if it will be here with the world number 27 a good shout for the rankings upset.
