Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich prediction

Ekaterina Alexandrova’s last tournament was at the US Open. She won her first two matches against McCartney Kessler and Kimberly Birrell but was then beaten by Marta Kostyuk. Her best result of the season was a run to the final of the Abu Dhabi Open, where she lost to Sara Bejlek. Overall, she has not been nearly as consistent as she was in 2025, but there have still been promising signs at times. That includes her quarter-final appearance at the Canadian Open, which included a victory over Aryna Sabalenka.

She received a bye in round one and now takes on Aliaksandra Sasnovich. The Belarusian booked her place in the next stage of the tournament, beating Talia Gibson in straight sets. Sasnovich, who had to qualify for the tournament, saved four out of five break point opportunities on her way to winning 6-1 6-4.

Alexandrova leads the head-to-head 5-1 overall. She will hope to begin her campaign in Beijing with another win over Sasnovich.
