Hwang In-su: "Legendary" looks to score his fifth consecutive win and make it to the MMA big leagues

The latest Korean export to appear on DWCS, Hwang In-Soo (8-1) enters this match up on the back of an impressive four fight winning streak. With six wins by knockout, the South Korean brawler is not a fan of leaving matters in the judges scorecards. However, "Legendary's" sole professional defeat also raises some concerns over his overall fight IQ; Hwang literally ran face first onto a punch in his fifth fight to find himself on the wrong end of a five second KO defeat. However, he's been nothing short of perfect since, scoring four straight victories and earning the Road FC middleweight title along the way.

Paddy McCorry: TUF veteran McCorry aims to make good on his second chance to earn a UFC contract

Cage Warriors standout Paddy McCorry (6-1) arrives on the Contender Series with a point to prove after bowing out of TUF 32 in the semi-finals, coming up short to eventual runner-up, Robert Valentin, by submission. One of the most entertaining fighters to appear on Cage Warriors in recent years, the Irishman is a bona fide highlight reel. A ferocious striker with an underrated submission game, McCorry has only been to the judges' scorecards on one occasion to date. He's 2-0 since his run on TUF in 2024, walking away with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Shuki Farage in his last appearance.

Hwang In-su vs Paddy McCorry prediction

While Hwang's power means that he's unquestionably a live dog in this match up, McCorry would appear to be the safer pick on paper.

Both men have fought fairly mediocre fighters throughout their respective careers. However, while Hwang has more cage time, McCorry has contentiously fought stiffer levels of competition in fewer professional bouts, taking on the likes of James Webb, Mark Hulme, and Robert Valentin.

That's not to mention the significant discrepancy in size between the two 185 pounders. At 5'11, Hwang is not enormous for the middleweight division to begin with, and he's going to be on the wrong end of a significant height and reach disadvantage against the 6'3 McCorry.

A remarkably composed striker at this early stage in his career, the Irishman isn't just the bigger man in this match up either; he's younger, hungrier, and never stops hunting the finish. While "Legendary" primarily relies on his hands, McCorry has also proven to mix up his strikes with more diversity, throwing a creative array of different techniques to the head, body, and legs.

Don't count Hwang out, but the pick is for McCorry to land something devastating for the early finish or to coast to a unanimous decision victory.
