With two regional championships already under his belt and a reputation for an all-action, finish heavy style, 30 year old bantamweight Hecher Sosa (13-1) presents one of the more intriguing prospects to arrive on DWCS this series. "Guanche Warrior" has scored nine wins by stoppage to earn his shot at the big leagues, most recently dispatching Yaman Mjahad in devastating fashion to earn the WOW bantamweight title. An unashamed brawler, Sosa frequently shows little regard to his own defense, walking through his opponent's punches to land spiteful combinations and power shots of his own. Blessed with excellent kicks and knees, the Spaniard's guns blazing approach seen him score a litany of stunning KOs along the way.

A dynamic striker with a 100% finishing rate in his professional career to date, Mackson Lee (9-0) is an exciting potential addition to the UFC's bantamweight division. With a penchant for flashy spinning techniques and highlight reel KOs, Lee looks to be a serious problem on the feet. At 6'1, the Brazilian is colossal for the weight class, firing powerful shots from unorthodox angles courtesy of his huge reach. While it's important to note that Lee fought a steady line up of cans in his first seven trips to the cage, he proved that he's a legitimate talent in his last two fights, taking out fellow prospects Mateus Soares and Filipe Zacaran with back-to-back stoppages.

Pitting two proven bantamweight finishers against each other with a UFC contract on the line, this has all the makings of an absolute war.
Sosa's superior experience and overall strength of schedule arguably makes him a slight favorite here. However, Lee has a significant edge in height and reach over his stockier opponent, and has proven himself capable of not only beating, but finishing, bantamweights with solid levels of talent. His range advantage has historically meant that he's able to ping opponents with fight ending shots from places where they simply can't hit him back; he could well snipe the ultra aggressive Sosa coming in.
However, Lee's propensity for spinning attacks do give cause for concern here. It's all well and good when these highlight reel techniques land, but it's easy to envision a reality in which Sosa is able to capitalize on his opponent's spins to land takedowns, tie matters up in the clinch, or land counter shots of his own. The Spaniard is a dangerous striker in his own right, with crushing knockout power to punish any consistent lapses in judgment from Lee.
With that being said, Lee has proven that he's a legitimate prospect, and until someone lays down the blueprint for negating his size and power, it's hard to pick against him. Scoring four wins and four finishes in the last twelve months, Sosa's stellar run of recent form means that he could well score the victory here, but the tentative pick is for Lee to catch the Spaniard with something murderous as he attempts to close the distance.
