Adam Livingston: "Bomb" looks to explode into the UFC at the expense of his latest foe

A professional since 2022, KO artist Adam Livingston (6-0) finds himself one impressive victory away from a contract with the world's premiere MMA organization. With just a single victory by decision, few fighters have been able to survive Livingston's initial onslaught to date. At 6'2, the Adam "Bomb" is an enormous lightweight and fights like one, using his reach effectively to land ferocious strikes with all four limbs. The LFA veteran's size advantage also allows him to sprawl effectively in the open, allowing him to stuff takedowns effectively and keep the fight standing.

Thomas Gantt: A precocious wrestling talent, Gantt aims to maintain his undefeated record and punch his ticket to the UFC

A highly touted US wrestling standout who eventually made the jump to MMA, to say that Thomas Gantt (10-0, 1 NC) has put in some serious work since joining the professional ranks would be somewhat of an understatement. While he's fought some dismal levels of competition so far, Gantt has competed ten times in just over a year since turning pro in April 2024, scoring nine finishes and winning two regional belts along the way. At 32, the American isn't exactly a raw prospect, but this will be the biggest test of his young career by a considerable distance.

Adam Livingston vs Thomas Gantt prediction

It's somewhat ironic that despite Gantt's wrestling accolades, he hasn't actually had the most consistent success when the fight hits the mat. He undoubtedly throws vicious ground and pound, but he doesn't consistently threaten submissions and also has struggled with holding his opponents down at times.

However, this one appears to be tailor made for him to walk away with the "W." Livingston is a big, powerful lightweight who can end the fight at any given moment, but he's never faced somebody with Gantt's grappling credentials before. "Bomb" does a good job of sprawling out takedown attempts when the fight takes place in the cage's center, but he's also looked vulnerable in the moments when he gets corralled against the cage.

Considering that's where Gantt does his best work when it comes to shooting takedowns, this looks to be his fight to lose. He's also a decent striker in his own right, with serviceable boxing and nasty clinch striking to keep his opponents honest. As such, if he's able to weather the early storm from Livingston, it's likely that his grappling advantage will see him steadily take over and build momentum as the fight goes on, allowing him to score a ground and pound TKO as "Bomb" tires.
