Donna Vekic vs Anastasia Zakharova prediction
Donna Vekic suffered a second-round exit at Roland Garros, losing a close three set match with Bernarda Pera. Vekic has not maintained the level which saw her make a run to the fourth-round of the Australian Open in January and will hope for an improvement during the grass court season. She had a fine campaign on the surface last season, as she made the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time and also reached a final in Bad Hormburg leading up to it.
Anastasia Zakharova will be her opponent in round one at Queen’s Club. She is ranked 109 in the world and made it through both qualifying stages to enter the main draw. Zakharova defeated Carol Zhao 6-3 6-7 7-6 in a close match to get through.
Though Vekic is not in the best of form this season, she has shown herself to be comfortable on the grass at points during her career. She will be expected to make it through in straight sets.
