The 21-year-old Czech was far too strong in a 6-3 6-4 win that saw the unranked Chinese star run out of gas in her best run since returning from a lengthy lay-off.
World number 151 Salkova will now take on Ann Blinkova after the Russian toppled third seed Alycia Parks 7-5 7-5.
Blinkova will be the favourite given her standing just inside the top 100 and she looks to be very comfortable on court in Jiangxi.
The 27-year-old has yet to drop a set at the tournament and is eying her first final of the season.
Salkova was struggling for form coming into this tournament and although she has scored some surprise wins, this may well be the hurdle where she stumbles.
