Anastasia Zakharova booked a spot in the round of 16 as she extended Ena Shibahara’s winless run to six matches. 

The eighth seed rarely looked troubled as she swept to a 6-4 6-1 success.

The Russian will now take on Dominika Salkova after the Czech ended her own four-match losing streak with a hard-fought 7-5 7-6 triumph over qualifier Aliona Falei.
