Dolphins vs St. George Illawarra Dragons prediction
Fresh from a bye in Round 13, the Dolphins' (10th) last match was a comprehensive 44-8 victory over the ladder leading Canterbury Bulldogs in Round 12. This was their second win in five matches but showed the potency they possess when things click.
Meanwhile, the St George Illawarra Dragons (8th) defeated the Knights 20-6 in Round 13, their best defensive performance of the season. They have their third and final bye of the season approaching in a fortnight, effectively their last break before a long run to the finals.
Jamayne Isaako is the Dolphins' leading point scorer with 122 points (5 tries, 51 goals) and boasts an impressive 89.5% goal conversion rate in 2025.
Tyrell Sloan has been a consistent try-scoring threat, crossing for 9 tries in his 10 appearances this season, however he finds himself only on the extended bench in this one.
All four previous encounters have been won by the home side by a margin of at least 14 points. Their last meeting was in Round 15, 2024, where the Dragons won 26-6
This is a crucial game for both sides. The Dolphins, with key players returning and the home-ground advantage at Suncorp, will be confident. The Dragons, coming off a strong defensive effort, will look to disrupt the Dolphins' attack. The "home team wins" trend in their head-to-head history adds an interesting dimension and we think it stops here with the Dragons causing the upset.
