Dino Prizmic’s last match on tour was short-lived, as he was forced to retire from his match in the first stage of qualifying for the Stockholm Open due to injury. The young Croat has won two Challenger titles this season and qualified for the main draw of a Grand Slam for the second time at the US Open. The 20-year-old reached the quarter-finals in Umag for the second time in three years and is now ranked 128 in the world, having reached a high of 115 in September.

Nishesh Basavareddy crept inside the top 100 of the world rankings for the first time in his career during the summer, having started the season with a fine run to the semi-finals in Auckland. He also won his first Masters 1000 match in Cincinnati, but his form did tail off in the final few months of the campaign. He competed in the Next Gen Finals last year but could not get out of the group stage.

This is likely to be a close encounter, but Prizmic is the more aggressive player, and that is likely to benefit him indoors against Basavareddy.
