Dino Prizmic is enjoying an upturn in form and is currently on a four-match winning run. He lost in the third qualifying round of the Australian Open but responded brilliantly at the Davis Cup as he won both of his qualifying matches against August Holmgren and Elmer Moller, playing a vital role as Croatia defeated Denmark. He then won both of his matches against Daniel Elahi Galan and Tomas Barrios Vera in straight sets to make the main draw from qualifying.
He takes on lucky loser Francesco Passaro in the first-round. Passaro won his first match in qualifying against Elmer Moller but then lost out to Vilius Gaubas. The Italian suffered a tough loss in the opening round of the Argentina Open last week. He was a set and 5-1 up against Ignacio Buse, but he twice failed to serve the match out and went on to lose in three sets.
