Diana Shnaider vs Sorana Cirstea prediction
Diana Shnaider’s last event was in Dubai, where she only reached the second-round after losing to Iva Jovic. Shnaider began her campaign with a good win over Maya Joint, but she fell away in the deciding set against Jovic. There were positive signs for Shnaider at the start of the season, as she reached the semi-finals at the Adelaide International, but she has gone on to lose three of her next six matches.
The Russian received a bye in round one and now takes on Sorana Cirstea. The Romanian advanced from her first-round match after beating Tatjana Maria in three sets. She broke right at the start of the decider and controlled the set to win 6-4 4-6 6-3. Cirstea is competing in her final Indian Wells after signalling her intention to retire at the end of the season, and she already has a title this year after success at her home event in Cluj-Napoca.
Cirstea leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a victory at the ATX Open last year, and she has the quality to take this into three sets.
