The fourth seed will now tackle her compatriot Liudmila Samsonova after the world number 70 backed up suggestions she may be returning to form with a fourth win in her last five at the expense of Xinyu Wang.
This will be their fourth meeting with Diana leading 2-1, including a three-set victory in their only match on hardcourt back in 2024.
