Diana Shnaider vs Dayana Yastremska prediction
Diana Shnaider was pushed hard by Anastasiya Soboleva, but the former winning the first set tie-breaker was huge and she used that momentum to overwhelm Soboleva and complete a straight sets win. Shnaider was excellent on serve with 70% of her first serves being accurate, whilst Soboleva struggled with four double faults.
Dayana Yastremska overcame Destanee Aiava in the first round 7-5, 6-1 as she got better the longer proceedings went on. We could well see a similar story here as we did in Shnaider’s match against Soboleva, where the first set proves to be significantly closer than the second, especially if Shnaider wins it.
Yastremska also made mistakes on serve though, recording three double faults and Shnaider is good enough to take full advantage of such mistakes. The 21-year-old has reached the third round in each of her last three Grand Slam appearances and is well worth backing to do the same at Roland Garros.
