Denis Shapovalov vs Marcos Giron Prediction

Denis Shapovalov is clearly enjoying his tennis right now and he beat another talented young American in the round of 16 as he overcame Alex Michelsen. After beating Nishesh Basavareddy in straight sets in the first round, Shapovalov went on to beat Michelsen 6-4 6-3 on Wednesday to continue his fine form.

He takes on Marcos Giron who was handed a bye following the withdrawal of Tommy Paul due to a stomach bug going around the dressing room that has affected a number of players.

Giron beat Alexander Walton in the first round and will be hoping to follow that up against Shapovalov.

The stomach bug is throwing up all kinds of issues at this tournament which should make everybody wary about betting on these matches right now. Additionally, you can imagine some players not playing full tilt to potentially exit and move on to the States and next week’s tournament.

We have to favour Shapovalov based on how well he is playing right now and he has the personality to dig in and brush the issues aside.
