Denis Altmaier vs Francisco Comesana prediction

Denis Altmaier comes into the Winston-Salem Open on the back of back-to-back second round exits in Montreal and then Cincinnati in ATP 1000 events. The 27-year-old German hasn’t won back-to-back matches since reaching the semi-finals at Halle in Germany on grass back in June.

Francisco Comesana has instead had an improved year but he has suffered from a tough summer in which he lost in a first qualifier in Cincinnati before a first round exit at a Challenger event in Cancun earlier this month. The Argentine did earn a straight sets victory against Wu Yibing the other day.

That will give Comesana some confidence heading into this second round tie but Altmaier remains the player to be sided with for this one.
