Dayana Yastremska vs Liudmila Samsonova prediction

Both Dayana Yastremska and Liudmila Samsonova will be aiming to break new ground when they do battle at the 2025 French Open.

Neither player has ever reached the round of 16 in Paris but one of them will achieve the feat following their maiden clash.

Yastremska is perhaps a surprise name to have made it this far having shocked rising star and 11th seed Diana Shnaider 7-5 7-5 last time out. 

The Ukrainian has yet to drop a set in the tournament but will need to upset another seeded Russian when she faces Samsonova. 

The 19th seed has breezed through the draw so far and is full of confidence after reaching the final in Strasbourg last week. 

Samsonova will be the favourite but never underestimate the desire of a Ukrainian looking to get the better of a Russian.
