David Goffin vs Alexandre Muller prediction

Alexandre Muller continues to search for consistency to try and conclude his excellent 2025 on the right note.

The Frenchman summed up his last few months when he followed up a brilliant win over fifth seed Karen Khachanov with a disappointing defeat to the lower-ranked Fabian Marozsan in Beijing.

The world number 38 is at a career high but has not notched back-to-back wins since Hamburg in May.

Muller will open in Shanghai against the veteran David Goffin, who has struggled for wins on tour all year long, with 11 defeats from his last 15 across all levels. 

The Belgian is still capable of super tennis, but he is inconsistent and injury-prone, as was the case in their only previous meeting earlier this year when La Goff retired in Madrid at 3-6 6-3 0-1 down.

It should be on Muller’s racquet and if he sticks to being solid and remains focused he should hold the upper hand.
