Michael Smith’s two points against Gerwyn Price were most welcome given his position in the table but Bully Boy knows there is plenty of work to do to even make a dent in the playoffs and he is up against it here in the semi-finals. Michael van Gerwen has one foot in the playoffs already but he will want to finish top of the table so motivation is certainly not an issue, but he almost made a mess of things in his quarter-final against Joe Cullen as he allowed his opponent to get back into the game when he should have been dead and buried.
