Despite being a first-round casualty in both the World Matchplay and World Series of Darts Finals – the two most recent major tournaments – Danny Noppert has been a consistent performer in the TV events over the last 12 months or so. Indeed, the Dutchman was a semi-finalist in last year’s World Grand Prix, claiming wins over the likes of Stephen Bunting and Gary Anderson before losing out to Luke Humphries.
That was the second time that Noppy has reached the last four of the Grand Prix, so the double-start format is clearly something he is comfortable with.
Niko Springer is edging towards the top 32 in the world rankings and is becoming a regular name in the big events, although it’s fair to say that the German’s form this year hasn’t quite been at the standard it was in 2025, when he won a European Tour event.
Springer is more than capable of challenging Noppert here, but we think the Dutchman’s greater experience in this format should carry him through.
