Daniil Medvedev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction

Daniil Medvedev defeated Dalibor Svrcina in straight sets to advance to the round-of-16 at the Shanghai Masters. The 2019 champion broke on five separate occasions, winning 6-2 6-3 after one hour and 14 minutes. Medvedev has won nine of his last 10 matches overall, and he will now face old rival Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The former world number three continued his resurgence with a win over Taylor Fritz in the third-round. Tsitsipas dropped the first set but fought back to win 3-6 7-5 6-3 after two hours and 13 minutes. He saved eight out of nine break point opportunities. Tsitsipas achieved his best result at the US Open last month, and he’s now back inside the top 40 of the live rankings.

Medvedev leads the head-to-head 10-5 and 6-2 on outdoor hard court. They faced each other in the semi-finals of this event seven years ago, with Medvedev coming out on top. Tsitsipas did win their most recent meeting earlier this year in Doha, but Medvedev remains the favourite to advance.
