Daniil Medvedev vs Jan-Lennard Struff prediction

Daniil Medvedev won his third title of the season, beating Andrey Rublev in the final of the Hangzhou Open. He then carried on the momentum with three more victories to advance to the last four in Beijing. The former world number one faced Novak Djokovic, but Medvedev was handed a default as Djokovic was serving for the match after firing a ball into the crowd, injuring a spectator in the process. He is a former champion at this event, beating Alexander Zverev in the 2019 final.

He received a bye in the first-round and now faces Jan-Lennard Struff. The German won his opening match against Martin Landaluce in straight sets. Struff saved seven out of eight break point opportunities, winning 6-4 6-4. That was Struff’s second win of the campaign over Landaluce, following another victory in Mallorca.

Medvedev leads the head-to-head 9-2. Struff won their match at Wimbledon this year, though the 30-year-old only just beat Struff at the China Open last week in straight sets.
