Daniil Medvedev vs Alexander Zverev prediction

Daniil Medvedev continued his fine progress at the Halle Open as he beat Alex Michelsen in straight sets to reach the semi-finals. The Russian again served well, not giving up a break point as he wrapped up a comfortable 6-4 6-3 win. Medvedev has not dropped a set in this tournament so far as he seeks a first title since the Italian Open in 2023.

He will go up against Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals. Zverev defeated Flavio Cobolli 6-4 7-6 in the last round. The German was always in control and is now two games away from a maiden Halle title, having made the final in 2016 and 2017.

These two have been engaged in a long and storied rivalry with Medvedev leading the head-to-head 12-7. He has also won six of their last seven matches. However, this is their first match on grass, and they haven’t played each other since the 2024 Australian Open, which saw Medvedev come from two sets to love down to win a dramatic semi-final.

Since then, Medvedev has dropped out of the top 10 of the world rankings while Zverev has become a mainstay in the top three, won three titles and made two Grand Slam finals. Both players have been very solid this week, especially on serve, but we predict that the German will come out on top in a tight match.
