Adolfo Daniel Vallejo made it through qualification for the ATP 250 Chile Open with victories against Thiago Monteiro and Henrique Rocha. That then preceded a win against Federico Passaro with a 6-3 first set and then Passaro having to retire hurt at 3-3 in the second set.

Emilio Nava comes into this one on the back of a surprisingly impressive straight sets defeat of number six seed Matteo Berrettini the other day. He recently succumbed to first round defeats in both the Argentina Open and the Rio Open.

Daniel Vallejo has to be viewed as a real challenger to Nava here, especially given the latter’s form, but he appeared to find some fluency against Berrettini and remains favourite.
