Daniel Altmaier vs Lorenzo Musetti prediction
Daniel Altmaier picked up only his third Masters 1000 main draw win of the campaign as he came from a set down to beat Coleman Wong. The German also went an early break down in the second but went on to win 3-6 6-3 6-4 after two hours and 19 minutes. Altmaier has struggled on hard courts this season, and that was only his second win from nine matches on the surface.
He now faces Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian made his return from injury at the Washington Open, reaching the quarter-finals before a three set loss to Rafael Jodar. He followed that up with a third-round appearance in Montreal, losing to Jodar once again.
Their last encounter was in the qualifying stages of this event back in 2022, with Musetti coming from a set down to win. Altmaier does not have the best record on hard courts, and Musetti has enough quality in his game to win.
