Daniel Altmaier vs Jaume Munar prediction
Daniel Altmaier competed in Brisbane last week but could not get off to a winning start after a straight sets defeat to Kamil Majchrzak. The German lost out in a tight first set but completely fell away in the second as he was on the end of a 7-6 6-0 loss. Altmaier has to put that defeat behind him quickly as he focuses on a strong run in Adelaide ahead of the Australian Open.
Jaume Munar competed for Spain at the United Cup but also struggled, as he lost both of his matches to Sebastian Baez and Taylor Fritz. The second match against Fritz was far more encouraging for Munar as he was competitive throughout and had the chance to win with a match point.
The ATP head-to-head is locked at 1-1 but this will be their first match on a hard court. There are just six places separating the pair in the rankings but Munar’s attritional style of play should provide him with enough opportunities to get past Altmaier.
