Daniel Altmaier vs Casper Ruud prediction
Daniel Altmaier advanced to the next round of the Paris Masters after beating Marcos Giron in straight sets. The German took the first set but was pegged back in the second after going a break up. Nevertheless, he edged ahead in the tiebreak to win 6-2 7-6.
Casper Ruud is his next opponent. Ruud was forced to retire from his quarter-final match in Basel against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina after losing the first set on a tiebreak. That would have been a disappointment for the Norwegian after a six match winning run indoors, which had seen him win the title in Stockholm a week earlier and get through to the last eight in his next event.
The injury didn’t look too serious, and Ruud already stated that his next target was to recover and prepare for the last Masters event of the year. He still has an outside chance of qualifying for the World Tour Finals next month and is performing well right now. Ruud will be the favourite to come through in straight sets.
