Daniel Altmaier vs Botic van de Zandschulp Prediction

Daniel Altmaier was excellent in the quarter-finals against Canada as his win over Gabriel Diallo set the tone for that 2-0 victory. That was just his second win in the Davis Cup but his experience showed and he will be just as eager to get them off to a good start here once again.

He will likely be facing Botic van de Zandschulp in the opening match and the pair have never met before on the ATP Tour.

Since making his Davis Cup debut back in 2019, Van de Zandschulp has become an important part of this Dutch team and he has made significant contributions in both singles and doubles.

He is expected to play both once again here and he will want to make his life easier by getting the win in this opener.

His record in the singles is 11-6 all-time and he can take confidence from the fact he is ranked higher than Altmaier, and has been in better form in recent months too.

It is the Dutchman who has to be favoured to get the win here. Van de Zandschulp played well in his opening matches on Tuesday and we favour him to edge a close-fought game.
