Daniel Altmaier vs Aleksandar Kovacevic prediction

Daniel Altmaier delivered excellent performances in Halle on his way to the semi-finals. The German won his first two matches and then picked up a brilliant win in the quarters as he got past former world number one Daniil Medvedev in three sets. He ran out of steam against Frances Tiafoe, but this was Altmaier’s best ever result at a tour-level grass court event.

He will now face Aleksandar Kovacevic in Eastbourne. The American only entered the main draw at Queen’s Club as a lucky loser after losing his second match in qualifying to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Kovacevic put up a strong fight against Francisco Cerundolo but lost his first-round match in three sets. 

Altmaier leads the ATP head-to-head 1-0 after coming from a set down to beat Kovacevic in Rotterdam last year. He showed exceptional variety last week and seems to be thriving under new coach Dustin Brown.
