Sean Clancy Jr.: "The One" looks to maintain his undefeated record and 100% finishing rate

Former Cage Warriors interim welterweight champion, Sean Clancy Jr. (8-0) may not have got his shot at the undisputed belt against Justin Burlinson, but he’s arguably moved on to bigger things for his next fight. One of Scotland’s brightest prospects, “The One” has been flawless in his career to date; combining slick striking and an opportunistic submission game, Clancy Jr. has a 100% finishing rate and has only ever seen a third round once. The 23 year old Higher Level representative is coming off a murderous knockout against Melvin van Suijdam in his last Cage Warriors bout, flatlining the Dutchman with a brutal combination.

Gary Balletto Jr.: Can the BKFC alum cash in and upset the oddsmakers?

Hardened veteran, Gary Balletto (11-3), returns for his first fight in MMA since April 2025, following a three fight stint in BKFC; a streak that saw him win by TKO on all three occasions. However, while the 31 year old American is an excellent striker, he’s actually been more of a submission threat throughout his MMA career; he has seven wins by tap out and boasts a 100% finishing rate in victory. Two of Balletto’s three career defeats have come against UFC fighters; “Batman” has stoppage defeats to Jeremiah Wells and Billy Ray Goff.

Sean Clancy Jr. vs Gary Balletto Jr. prediction

The Contender Series has been known to be rough on Cage Warriors standouts before. Despite closing as favorites, the likes of George Hardwick, Samuel Silva, and Justin Burlinson have all fallen at the final pre-UFC hurdle.

However, we’re still going with Clancy Jr. here. The Scot looks like one of the brightest prospects to come out of Cage Warriors in a long time, boasting an undefeated record with a 100% finish rate at the tender age of 23. He’s the bigger man in this match up and is dangerous anywhere the fight goes.

Balletto is extremely tough and has a chance of scoring the upset here, but he hasn’t fought in MMA in over a year. His attention has been on bare knuckle boxing as of late, meaning that he may be lacking in areas of the game that Clancy has been laser focused on. He’s also been TKO’d before and the Scot hits like a truck.

I see a cagey first round playing out as “The One” makes his reads, before he detonates something fight ending on Balletto’s chin out in the open somewhere in the second. If he doesn’t finish him outright, he’ll lock up a choke or a hammer away with GNP for the finish.

Prediction: Sean Clancy to win by finish
