Logan Paxton: "The Warverine" looks for his biggest scalp to date

Undefeated since a decision loss in his second professional fight, Logan Paxton (10-1) enters the biggest fight of his career with UFC dreams on the horizon. “The Warverine” is a power puncher with seven wins by KO; only one of his victories has come by way of decision. However, while he’s largely blown through every opponent he’s faced to date; Paxton’s strength of schedule leaves a lot to be desired. He’s been fighting extremely mediocre levels of competition on the regional circuit, with all of his victories coming over inexperienced fighters or journeymen.

Cristian Perez: Will Perez rebound after falling just short last time at the Apex?

Another unsuccessful member of the Contender Series class of 2025, Cristian Perez (14-2) suffered the first and only KO loss of his career at the Apex last year, succumbing to a third round KO from Manoel Sosa. A well-rounded finisher with eleven stoppages split virtually even between KOs and submissions, the Goat Shed representative has largely cut his teeth in Combate Globale. However, he’s been relatively inactive in recent years; Perez has only fought twice under MMA rules since 2023. However, he rebounded successfully last time out, stopping Gilberto Santos with first round GNP.

Logan Paxton vs Cristian Perez prediction

We’re going with Perez here. Manoel Sosa looks to be a really solid prospect, and “Puas” was arguably on his way to beating him prior to getting caught and put away in the final round. Having come within inches of his dream last time out, he’s more than likely going to enter this match up with a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove.

Paxton will be dangerous early, but he literally doesn’t have a single win on his resume that makes me think that he’s going to earn the upset here. Case in point, his last opponent had a record of 5-5, and he’s just two fights removed from winning a title against an 0-1 fighter when he was already 7-1. The only time that he’s fought in a decent promotion, he suffered his first and only loss, coughing up a decision to JaCobi Jones in LFA.

Moreover, I think Perez is going to have a significant grappling edge here, meaning that he has multiple avenues to victory here. Even if he isn’t able to find the KO blow, he looks to be a much safer bet to find a submission in a scramble.

There’s always the chance of a Paxton overhand causing the upset, but the pick is Perez by finish somewhere in the first two rounds.

Prediction: Cristian Perez to win by finish
