Damir Dzumhur vs Tomas Machac prediction
Damir Dzumhur was forced to withdraw midway through his match against Pierre-Hugues Herbert due to injury in the first-round of the Stuttgart Open. He decided to compete in the Mallorca Championships two weeks later but also suffered an early exit after a three set defeat to Arthur Rinderknech. The Bosnian last reached the second-round here seven years ago and competes in the main draw of Wimbledon for the first time since 2019.
Tomas Machac made his return from injury at the Halle Open and was able to pick up two wins before a quarter-final defeat to Alexander Bublik. The Czech will hope he can improve upon his best finish last year, which saw him make the second-round.
Machac won their only meeting three years ago, coming from set down to defeat Dzumhur in Marseille. The Czech player has been forced to grapple with continuing injury problems this season, but a fit Machac should find no issue in making it through to the next round.
