Damir Dzumhur vs Pedro Martinez prediction
Damir Dzumhur’s South American clay court swing began poorly as he was dumped out of the Argentina Open by Hugo Dellien in straight sets. Dzumhur was barely in the contest as he lost 6-4 6-1 in the first-round. The Bosnian has just one victory from his first five matches of the season.
He takes on Pedro Martinez. The Spaniard fared better in Buenos Aires as he defeated Lautaro Midon and Juan Manuel Cerundolo in straight sets to make the quarter-final. He faced second seed Luciano Darderi and though the first set was competitive, Martinez would lose 7-5 6-1. He already has a title this season after winning in Bengaluru on the Challenger Tour.
The head-to-head is currently at 1-1 and both of those matches were played on clay last year. Martinez won their match in Buenos Aires but was then forced to retire against Dzumhur in Bucharest two months later.
Martinez is in the better form of the two at the moment and is worth backing in this one.
