Damir Dzumhur vs Gael Monfils prediction

Damir Dzumhur did not enjoy the best South American swing as he won just one match out of three. He lost in the first-round of the Argentina Open to Hugo Dellien in straight sets. The Bosnian then recorded a hard-fought victory against Pedro Martinez in Rio, before a defeat to Jaime Faria. As it stands, Dzumhur has won just two of his seven matches so far in 2026. He will be hoping for an upturn in form as he transitions back to hard courts in Acapulco.

He faces veteran Gael Monfils. The Frenchman continues his final year on tour, having not featured since the first-round of the Australian Open, over a month ago. He lost in four sets to Dane Sweeny in Melbourne, his final appearance at the major. Monfils’ defence of his title in Auckland also ended in round one earlier in January following a loss to Fabian Marozsan. 

Monfils will view this as a fantastic opportunity to get a first win of his final season on tour. He has a strong record against Dzumhur, having won all three of their ATP meetings, and should have enough quality to get the job done.
