Damir Dzumhur vs Arthur Fery prediction
Damir Dzumhur qualified for the Mallorca Championships last week, defeating top seed Zachary Svajda in the final stage. However, he was unable to progress beyond round one after a defeat to Vit Kopriva in straight sets. He has never truly excelled on grass, having never progressed to the third-round at the All England Club.
Arthur Fery is his opponent in the first-round. The Brit’s grass court preparation has been encouraging. He reached the semi-finals in Birmingham on the Challenger Tour and then broke new ground as he achieved his best ATP result at Queen’s Club. Fery progressed to the quarter-finals and was a break up against Francisco Cerundolo in the decider, though ended up falling to a three set defeat.
Fery pulled off an upset last year in the first-round by defeating Alexei Popyrin, his only win at a Grand Slam in his career so far. This is arguably an even more winnable match for the Brit.
