Dalibor Svrcina’s last event was on the Challenger Tour in Poznan, and he ended up advancing to the semi-finals. The Czech failed to qualify for Roland Garros, and he is currently outside of the top 100 in the world rankings.
He faces Learner Tien in the first-round. Tien went a set up against top seed Felix Auger-Aliassime at the Halle Open, but would go on to lose in three. The American won his first clay title in Geneva last month, and he will now be hoping for his best ever run at Wimbledon. Tien made his SW19 debut last year, winning his opening round match against Nishesh Basavareddy before a straight sets loss to Nicolas Jarry.
Tien will head into this match as a pretty clear favourite. Svrcina lacks the weapons to consistently hurt Tien across the match, and the American’s strong return game and court coverage should provide him with plenty of opportunities.
